Wow! This place is amazing. The catfish has the best flavor. The brisket me lets in your mouth. The ribs fall off the bone. The sausage was delish. My favorite will forever be the sides - from the red beans and rice to the fried cabbage. Try everything and enjoy! Side note: if you have never had ox tail, try it here and you will love it!!

Boss Lady and I came in for something a little different in Amarillo. The joint's not too petty to look at, but the food more than makes up for it. It's very dated and needs a make over. We had an awesome conversation with the owner/cook who entertained us for a while. We tried the chicken fried chicken with gravy (ask for no BBQ sauce), fried rib, fried cabbage, potato salad, ox tails, fried okra, gumbo, and corn bread. It all was very tasty. We took a piece of chocolate and lemon cake with us...they were delicious! If you in the area, come try Shi Lee's, just don't be scared of the outside.

I ate here today for the first time, and it was spectacular! I had the brisket sandwich. Rarely in my life have I had BBQ this good. Otto's in Houston in the 1980s and Bodacious in Arlington in the early 2000s were my other two bests. She Lee's joins them as my all time favorites. The Triple Crown of BBQ! I even spent all of last year living in Houston only a mile from a currently very famous BBQ place. Shi Lee's puts that place to shame, and that is the Truth! :)

We were in town for a week and it's the only restaurant we ate at. The first time was because nothing was really open so we got brisket, collard greens, bbq pork ribs, corn bread and beans. Yummy! The second time we went was because of the food, and the people who work there. The service is fast and efficient and very friendly! The restaurant stays true to being a real bbq place, no junk all over the walls. We will definitely go back when we are there again!

When I saw a 1-star review about one of the employees shaming an 8 year old McDonald's addict and making him cry in front of his own dad I asked myself "what kind of king would do such a thing in 2024? What kind of community monster would stand on principle to give out a quick free lesson to a future Tesla driver?" Cheers to you uncle! God bless you king! God bless Shi Lee's. The food is excellent! Perfect seasoning, perfect smoke, the sides were fantastic, butter beans were amazing. Best meal we've had in a very long time. Turkey leg was so good. The service is not fast, so come on a day you can just relax and eat. You can tell it's a family place, and the customers were relaxed just like the employees.

The food here is great! I went back to back days! If you have a food allergy, mention that up front. I forgot to tell them 'no sauce' my second time around. I had the brisket on visit one and the fried wings on visit two. It's not the place for a large group but it's a place that large groups would appreciate being suggested. Most of the foods are prepared to order, so either call ahead or be patient enough to wait. Either way, go and enjoy.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - ordered a Cat Fish Dinner with brisket gumbo and cowboy mac & cheese with a full slab of ribs. The cat fish was recommended and fried superbly with a crispy outside and a moist inside. The lemon based rub added a tartness that went well with the tartar sauce. The mac & cheese was good but quite salty depending on the bite so it wasn't our favorite. The gumbo was very tomato based and quite yummy overall. The ribs were fall off the bone tender that you don't need a knife at all! Absolutely delicious with a touch of smokiness that goes so well with the BBQ sauce. Service: 5/5 - super friendly owners but it does depend on who you get. The gentleman was chatting with the other table and interacting with their children providing samples of drinks and sides for them to try. The lady was to the point and really quick on the service but think she was juggling the cooking as well. Ambiance: 4/5 - scary looking place from the outside but cozy once you walk in. It was a tiny place with only 6 tables. And while it's worn, the tables are cleaned and wiped down (but the windowsills are quite dusty with dead flies). It can get quite smokey in the restaurant depending on what's being cooked Value for price: 5/5 - delicious food at a reasonable price point. So happy we gave this place a try!

Home cooking serving the working class neighborhood. The outside is unassuming and unremarkable. You could drive by and miss it. You'd be sorry you missed fall off da bone ribs. The Q sauce is mild and that's how I like it, not too spicy, not overly smoky. If I was a smokejumper i'd eat my ribs at a base camp, but I enjoyed the tenderness and the flavors of slow cooking in downtown Amarillo.
